Serve your saucey sausages on Mashed Potatoes or kumara with a dollop of WWW Onion Relish and a side of winter vegetables.
- 6-8 Sausages
- 2 Tbsp Oil
- 2 Brown Onion
- 1 Granny Smith apple
- 3 Tbsp Raisins (or Sultanas)
- ½ Tsp Thyme (dried or fresh)
- 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
- 2 tsp Dijon Mustard
- ½ tsp Salt
- 2 cup Beef Stock
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 2 Tbsp WWW Spicy Sweet or combo of Spicy Sweet & Hot Chilli Blacksauce
- 1 Tsb Water/Corn Flour
- WWW Onion Relish
Method:
- In a casserole dish (or if using crockpot; a large fry-pan) add oil and sausages – brown and remove
- Add a dash of oil, onions, ½ tsp salt to dish/pan; sweat until translucent
- Add apple, raisins, thyme, brown sugar and mustard; mix w onions
- Re-add sausages to onions in casserole dish or transfer all to crockpot
- Pour over liquid ingredients; Beef Stock, WWW Spicy Sweet (and/or Hot Chilli) Blacksauce, Soy Sauce
- Season Salt + Pepper
Crockpot: Simmer on low 6 hours – ready for dinner!
Casserole:
- 1.Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes covered
- Remove lid and reduce remaining liquid for further 10 minutes
- Thicken to desired ‘gravy’ consistency, add cornflour/Water mix as agent
